“My dream life is one that is full…full of life, adventure, lots of laughter, and a good story written by a good God.”

Hello, my name is Jen! I’m years 28 old from South Korea and I am currently traveling in!  If you would like to get in contact with me, submit a message here and Erica will relay it to me.  I hope you enjoy reading what I’ve learned while on my journey!

What countries have you traveled to so far?

New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Haiti, Peru, Kenya, England, Mexico

What country are you currently in or where are you planning to go?

Hmmm, not sure where my next adventure will be yet!

What stage of life are you in?

Post-University, Traveling with your Partner

Why embark on your journey?

to experience a new culture, to check out new scenery, to serve others (missions)

What are some of your goals while traveling?

I love experiencing new cultures…the food, the arts, the pace, the scenery, the way of life. There’s so much to learn from those that are not like you!

What were some of your fears about traveling before you left?

running out of money, exposure to possible dangers (sickness, disease, violence, etc), language barrier

How do you feel you have faced those fears during your trip?

I think that the one of the things I’ve learned is that people are people. There are good people everywhere who are willing to lend a hand.

Have you dreams of what you might do with your live changed as a result of traveling?

My dream life is one that is full…full of life, adventure, lots of laughter, and a good story written by a good God. I don’t remember when I realized this was my dream life, but I’m sure my experiences traveling have helped me along in my journey.

What are 3 significant things you have learned while being on your adventure?

1. Living at an orphanage in Kenya taught me to use everything and waste nothing. They are incredibly resourceful with the little that they have. I couldn’t buy new clothes for months afterwards and it reminded me that I am “rich” compared to most of the world. Why do I always want more?

2. Living with 10 Australians in college taught me the value of immersing yourself in a culture unlike your own. It gave me a perspective of people are people everywhere…not an “us” and “them” mentality. I LOVED my roommates because I knew their stories. Get to know locals and their stories and it’ll make traveling way more interesting!

What are the top three countries you would like to travel to next?

Iceland, Canada, Thailand
