Jackson, Wyoming Hot Springs & Mountain Biking in the Tetons

After a whirlwind tour of Yellowstone, we cruised down to Jackson to stay with Matt Lovely for a few days.  We went out with Matt and some friends to a natural hot spring near a waterfall.  The location required us to cross a very cold river that was about two feet deep and forty feet across, so your legs and toes were freezing when you were finally able to dip them into the pool.  The pool was shallow but very hot when you got close to the water fall.  It was very private and we had the place to ourselves for most of the time.  There were scenic mountain views and a large waterfall next to the pool.  We were also fortunate enough to be there during peak foliage, which added to the natural beauty.

After the hot springs we met up with Eric Lovely and the four of us went mountain biking up  off the Jackson pass in the Tetons.  We parked a car at a lot 3/4 of the way up the pass, and left one at the bottom as a shuttle.  We did about 14 miles including a long climb up to the very top where we rode a ridge that was amazingly beautiful and a great way to see the Tetons in the fall.  The ride then concluded with a 5 mile downhill that we broke into sections.  What a day!
